About Us
Our MIssion
To provide assistance to children of all backgrounds, with the emphasis on those in need or in disadvantaged circumstances. To inspire and empower the children of Manteca/Lathrop area. To help them understand and realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens, making a positive contribution to society.
our HISTORY
The Manteca Children’s Foundation was started in May 2005. As you can see from our mission statement, we have the freedom to start any program that we feel will improve the lives of children (now and in the future) in the Manteca/Lathrop area. Because of the rapid rise of obesity and diabetes in children throughout the United States we have tried several different ways to bring this problem to the attention of local children and their parents. Our main project at this time is the pedometer project. We hope to go into every grade school in the community, give every child a pedometer, and then encourage them through incentives to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. We figure the cost of this project alone will be over $68,000.
High School Seniors Scholarships
The Manteca Children’s Foundation has several scholarships for graduating seniors who live in the following zip codes: 95336, 95337, 95206, 95231 and 95330. See scholarships under programs for additional information.
Volunteers and Donations
We are always looking for volunteers and donations. You can get additional information by contacting us here.

I have been involved with the Antone Raymus Golf Tournament since the beginning therefore when I was asked to be a member of the Board, I could not say no. I am so impressed with the high school students that apply for our scholarships each year. We have some impressive youth in the community.

When asked to join the Board as Treasurer I was first reluctant, but after a few months on the job I found it rewarding. I wanted to insure the financial stability of the foundation and to insure accurate accounting and reporting of Foundation funds.
Mark Lilly
Secretary
I was told that the Foundation needed a Secretary so I volunteered. Since becoming a Board member and realizing all that the Foundation is involved in I am an enthusiastic supporter.
Jim McDonough
Fundraising Chairman
I started the Manteca Children’s Foundation over 15 years ago. The general purpose was to help children in the local area. Over the years it has developed into one of the many organizations that has provided scholarships to students going to college, encouraged kids to exercise and eat better, etc.

I was told that the Manteca Children’s Foundation needed someone who could be the contact person regarding scholarships for local high school students. Knowing that the MCF benefits the youth of our community very much, I was happy to join the Board.
